Patients trust urgent care centers in their neighborhoods because they provide consistency in terms of medical costs and quality of treatment.

  • Patients pay a certain deductible once or twice a year for coverage and reduction of medical costs.

  • Patients with chronic diseases need a yearly health checkup to keep their insurance plan.

  • Patients complain about their ambulance ride bill being expensive.

  • Patients complain about their medical bills being expensive.

  • Patients prefer to visit the urgent care centers in their neighborhood.

  • Patients are satisfied by the quality of treatment & care provided by the knowledge staff of ambulance agencies.

The system is designed in a way where Ambulance services have to depend on other organizations to be viable & profitable businesses.

  • Ambulance services need to be interoperable within the EMS due to the lack of a national system. ( “If you have seen EMS system, then you only seen EMS system”)

  • Chatham ES doesn't get paid if the patients refuse to be admitted to Emergency Rooms. 

  • Ambulance agencies can only be communicated to the 911 Call center.

Patients trust the services they have used more than once or repeatedly.

Patients are unaware of the responsibilities and role of ambulance services.

  • Patients don’t know what is considered an actual 911 emergency.

  • 50% of the calls the Chatham ES receives are not emergencies. 

  • Patients complain about ambulance bills being too expensive.

Patients are not aware of their insurance plan benefits and limitations

Privately run Ambulance agencies are not supervised or funded by the government so they don’t have to run like government-funded ambulance services.

Chatham ES has an outreach program to train people in EMTS and Paramedics and demonstrate preventive measures during a fire.
